Are you guys getting cabin fever and itching to get the clubs out of storage and start swinging again? I know I'm looking forward to losing my first balls of the new season.
As it stands right now there's no word on any official start date for the upcoming league season. Obviously it all depends on the return of some heat and the melting of the snow along with the drying of the course.
Last year it was mid-April before we got things going and I'm guessing this year won't start any sooner but as soon as I hear any concrete date or get an update of any kind on the course, I'll be sure to post it here.
I know that Alida has also started a Murray Hills Facebook page where you might also be able to get details even sooner so you might want to Like that page if you haven't already. That's provided you're a Facebook user of course.
Hope to see you on the course within the next few weeks.
The league consists of 12 teams playing each Wednesday night between April and September. Tee time is 6:00 PM. The home course is Murray Hills Golf Club located in Wooler, Ontario.

Ahhhhh Spring!
We did it! Yes we made it through another long, cold, snowy and sometimes miserable winter in Canada. Well, those of us who stayed here did. To those who found time to get away and find some warmth and sunshine, I hope you had a nice respite from the wind chills and frostbite.
Here it is mid March and although we could still see some of the white stuff, it won't be long and we'll be dusting off the clubs and shaking off the rust from our bones and hitting the links once again.
No official word of course as to when the Mens League will try to get going at this point but if all goes well and the snow on the tree sheltered holes melts in time I would suspect sometime in early to mid April we could be back into the swing of swings.
Of course, as always Mother Nature has the final say on things.
So in the meantime, start to get those rested muscles limbered up again and we'll be seeing you soon.

Time To Shake Off The Rust
The golf course has officially opened for the season and the Mens League will begin at 6pm on Wednesday April 14th.I was out tonight with several other league members for a fun round of nine holes (OK...I only lasted seven holes) and although the pain will be unbearable tomorrow, it was nice to swing the clubs again.
There was still some snow on the fairway of number 5 and some thick ice on the cart path beside the number 6 tee box but other than that things look great.
You'll also notice if you look behind the 4th green that a Pileated Woodpecker has been busy renovating one of the trees.
Provided the weather remains favourable the course will continue to remain open and we'll be back in action on the 14th of April.
So start using those muscles again and prepare for the season which will be starting soon.
