Maybe June Will Be Nicer

It's starting to get a little old isn't it? Once again tonight we found ourselves golfing under cloudy skies and although we didn't get soaked, it did rain just enough to remind us it must be Wednesday night. At least the bugs weren't too bad.

The Dubbers managed to take all six points from the Bogies who had yet to give up a single point this season. Also taking six points were the Hackers, Southpaws and KGB. The Fat Shafts earned five points, Rolling Stones 4, Whizbangers 2 and the Fivesome one.

Rick Dean had the low round of the night shooting even par which was good enough to move him into a tie with Norm Toyne for the Individual Low Gross.

Dean also grabbed the Closest to the Pin honours on hole #6 while Tim Donaldson was closest on hole #15. Bob Donaldson was the 50/50 winner.

Rain Rain Go Away

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but if my math is correct, and there's a good chance it isn't, we've had rain on five of the first six weeks of league play. Tonight being the fifth.

Although it appeared the dark clouds might hold off on drenching us for most of the round, the skies finally opened and left us soaking wet yet again.

Despite the inclement weather, the Bogies continued their impressive start to the season by taking another six points. Also sweeping their matches were the Whizbangers, Southpaws, Rolling Stones and Hackers. Wedgers took five and the Fat Shafts one.

Paul Reid was the Closest to the Pin winner on Hole #5 while Andy Koetstra's shot on #14 held on for the honour. Jim Turner was this week's 50/50 winner.

That's More Like It

For those of you who didn't recognize it, that bright yellow thing in the sky was the sun. I know, I was shocked to see it as well as it finally arrived on a Wednesday night. Some of you may have also seen the black flies and the fox on the course as well.

Four teams swept their matches tonight as the Hackers, Wedgers, Dubbers and Bogies took all six points. The Rolling Stones earned five, the Whizbangers 4, KGB two and the Southpaws grabbed a single point.

Norm Toyne shot par to grab sole possession of the Individual Low Gross at 27. Norm also earned the Closest to the Pin nod on hole #4 while Rick Dean took the honours on hole #13. Barry Defosse was this weeks 50/50 winner.

Finally, No Rain!

It wasn't the nicest night of golf we've ever had but it was by far the best night we've had so far this season. It looked like it might rain but it held off which is a first so far as we managed to get our second official round of matches in.

Teams grabbing all six points included Fat Shafts, Fivesome, Bogies, KGB and Rolling Stones. The Dubbers took four while the Whizbangers earned two points.

Two more golfers moved into a tie for Individual Low Gross as Nick Defosse and Tom St.Denis both shot a 29. The KGB posted the new Team Low Gross with a total of 91.

The Closest to the Pin winners were Steve Guindon on hole #3 while Nick Vangemeren took it on hole #12. The 50/50 winner was Ian Rogers.
