Cool Night but Hot Toyne

The late April evening was rather cool but clear and the winds were howling which made for some interesting club choices for the guys tonight.

But the conditions didn't seem to be a problem for Norm Toyne who's round of par golf (27) was good enough to take over the Individual Low Gross score lead. In my rush to get home to watch the hockey game I'm afraid I forgot to record the Closest to the Pin winners or the 50/50 winner.

It was an all or nothing night with the points as six teams took six points.

No Bugs and Lots of Birdies

I don't think anyone could complain about the conditions that greeted us for week number two of league play. Mainly clear skies, no bugs and some excellent scores.

Drew Donovan led the way by posting a 29 on his first night in the league which was also good enough to take over the Individual Low Gross lead. The KGB had a strong night as a team shooting 93 which allowed them to claim the low score for Team Low Gross.

Four teams swept all of the points in their respective matches as the CCCP, KGB, Fat Shafts and Wedgers took all six points up for grabs.

Tim Donaldson won the Closest to the Pin on hole #2 while Kevin Wadsworth took the back nine honours with a close shot on #11. Peter Hughes was this weeks 50/50 winner.

And......We're Off

Welcome back guys!

The Mens League has officially kicked off and tomorrow morning I'm sure many of you will be in a bit of pain as we worked a few muscles that have been resting peacefully for the last 6 months or so.

It was a beautiful April evening to start things off with little to no bugs and great course conditions.

Five teams started strong sweeping all six points (CCCP, Rolling Stones, Southpaws, Whizbangers & Wedgers) while the Fat Shafts earned four points and the Bogies took two.

The bar was set for the Team Low Gross as the Southpaws shot 95.

Meanwhile three players tied for the Individual Low Gross as Andy Koetstra, Bob Harvey and Norm Toyne shot 30's

The 50/50 was won by John VanValls and it is unknown who won the Closest To The Pin honours.
