Stones Still Hot

Kyle Wilkinson tees off on the first hole.
The Rolling Stones turned in another impressive team effort tonight by matching last week's Team Low Gross score of 82. The Stones were led by Matt Couperus who posted a round of one under par 53 for the evening by shooting 26 & 27. Norm Toyne posted a nine hole score of 25 for the second week in a row falling just short of tying the Individual Low Gross set last week by Kyle Wilkinson.

Ryan Cuculuzzi saved his best shot for his second last hole of the night and grabbed the Closest to the Pin prize on hole #8. Tim Donaldson also took the honours on hole #17. The 50/50 was won by Al Wilkinson.

Four teams swept their matches tonight as the Hackers, KGB, Southpaws and Wedgers took all 12 points up for grabs. The Rolling Stones earned 11 points, the Latecomers took 7 points with the Whizbangers getting 5 points and the Fat Shafts managed a single point.

I believe next week we're back to the usual 9 hole rounds as we're now officially into the second half of the season. See you then.

Wilkinson Fires A 24

There were some doubts that we'd actually get this week's 18 hole round in without being washed away by rain or thunderstorms but luckily the bad weather stayed to the south and some impressive rounds of golf were turned in Wednesday night.

The most impressive round of the evening was shot by Kyle Wilkinson who posted a front nine hole score of 24 to take over the Individual Low Gross lead for the season. Norm Toyne's round of 25 was also impressive but not quite enough on this night. Lead by Wilkinson, the Rolling Stones also posted the new Team Low Gross score of 82.

The shot of the night however went to Symen Korver who sank his 143 yard tee shot on Hole #9 for a hole-in-one. Congratulations Symen!

The Closest to the Pin winners were Randy Conley on hole #7 and Dave Wharry on hole #16. Pat Convey was this week's 50/50 winner.

In team play the Southpaws, Rolling Stones and KGB took all 12 points up for grabs in their matches. The Wedgers came close taking 11 points while the Latecomers earned 10 points. The Whizbangers grabbed 9 points, the Fat Shafts improved their total on the season with another 3 points. The Bogies added a pair of points while a single point went to the Dubbers.

Just a reminder that next Wednesday will be another 18 hole round of golf. See you then!

Points-a-Plenty

Sorry for the delay posting the results this week guys but due to my current work schedule I likely won't get the results updated until at least a day or two after. We start the rounds of 18 holes this coming week and I won't be able to stay for the whole round but will try and get the results as soon as I can.

Norm Toyne tees off on hole 18.
This week there were points spread out among several teams with some close matches. Only two teams swept all six points as the Whizbangers and Wedgers beat their opponents. The Southpaws took five points while the Bogies and Latecomers each earned four points. The CCCP and Hackers took two points and a single point went to the Dubbers.

The Closest to the Pin winners for the week were Jerry Powell on hole #6 and Paul Scobie on hole #15. The 50/50 was won by Skylar Parks.

Once again a reminder that for the next several weeks we will be playing 18 holes instead of the usual 9 to plan to be at the course later than usual.
