Shutouts Galore

We were blessed with another beautiful night for golf. The sun was shining, the shorts were on for some but we won't talk about the pesky mosquitoes.

The perfect conditions helped many to post some very impressive scores.
Lyle Williams chips on Hole #3 after his layup.
Both Rick Dean and Kyle Wilkinson shot even par 27 and now share the Individual Low Gross lead.

It was all or nothing when it came time to add up the scores for the night. All six matches were sweeps as the Fat Shafts, Whizbangers, KGB, CCCP, Rolling Stones and Southpaws took all six points up for grabs

For the second week in a row Tom St.Denis took a Closest to the Pin prize by sticking it tight on hole #16. Kevin Wadsworth's first shot of the night on hole #7 finished just over a foot away to take the honour on the front nine. Dave Horner was the 50/50 winner this week.

That Was Nice For A Change

I don't know about the rest of you but I actually thought tonight's round was a little on the muggy side. I'm not complaining of course. I was actually quite glad to feel some warmth for a change on Wednesday night. Maybe the cold weather has finally left us for a while. I hope I didn't just jinx us.

The rise in temperature agreed with five teams as they swept the points in their matches. The Dubbers, Wedgers, Southpaws, Rolling Stones and KGB all took six points. The Fivesome earned four points on the night while the Hackers took two.

The Closest to the Pin winners were Matt Kenell on hole #6 and Don Muldoon on hole #15. Glenn Lonergran was the nights 50/50 winner.

Nine Holes of Sunshine

Isn't it nice that the weather wasn't a factor on a Wednesday night? OK, maybe it was a little breezy but at least we didn't get washed away or melt. It was an ideal night for a round of golf.

Four teams took all six points in their matches tonight. They included the Southpaws, Fat Shafts, Dubbers and Wedgers. The Dubbers jumped into first place with their solid effort this evening. Rolling Stones earned five points while the Fivesome had four, Hackers took two and the Bogies a single point.

Glen Lonergan's first tee shot of the night held up for the Closest to the Pin prize on hole #4 while Norm Toyne took it on hole #13. The ever elusive Dave Maybee was the 50/50 winner.

Stones and Paws Play Well

It was a cool night but the Rolling Stones and Southpaws were red hot as both teams posted 88's to take over the Team Low Gross lead.

The Latecomers, who had yet to earn any points, had a good night by taking all six points in their match.

The Closest to the Pin winners were Don St.Denis on hole #5 while Len Bosma had a close shot on #14. The 50/50 winner this week was Glen Lonergan.

Aces-O-Plenty Lately

For the last two weeks the 16th hole has been more generous than usual as two golfers found the cup with their tee shots.

Last week Dan Jess of the Fat Shafts helped propel his team to take over the Team Low Gross (87) with his first Hole-in-One on 16. This week Kevin Wadsworth from the KGB followed up winning the Closest to the Pin prize on hole 15 with his ace on 16. Congratulations to both Dan and Wally.

With just five weeks remaining in the regular season the playoff picture is starting to become clearer and if teams are looking to make a move they'll need to do it sooner rather than later.

The other Closest to the Pin winner this week was Bill Hewson on Hole 6. The 50/50 winner was Glen Lonergan.
